Hi,
I am a high school junior, (male) , and have been interested in West Point for around five years now. It really is my ideal place to attend college. I have done lots of research and would love to be accepted. I just need some help to know whether I would stand out amongst the other candidates or not. I am on the track team, and I am am the president of two clubs. There is not much else to make me stand out amongst the other candidates, though, except for my grades. I need something to really make me stand out, and I am not good at anything else but track. Is there a surefire way to get in? Is there something I can do to make myself really stand out? Thanks a billion in advance!

No one can give you an answer to that.

Compare yourself to your district. In order to get in, you must be the best all-around student in your district/senate slate OR must be a stellar student in the national pool.

For example, I stood out to Navy because I work an adult job for 20+ hours/week and I sell televisions. This job pays on commission. The nomination board and the academies found that very appealing.

I also went to a missionary to Mexico. Another appealing aspect.

Have you taken standardized testing? Get on that ASAP. It is imperative to start early.
