Hello again. As we creep closer to that TWE, I read another speaking about re-application but I have a slightly more specific question. I was given the opportunity to graduate a year early this year and I met the requirements for USAFA so I decided to apply. Now that I have not gotten in, I am going to reapply next cycle. Will it be frowned upon for me not having gone to college full time if I could have?

That’s a great question, I wondered the same. Would work and volunteer experience be beneficial?

Did you graduate a year earl

Not yet. I’m likely to stay another year at high school.
Ah, now I understand. Whether you go to college or stay in HS, take the hardest courses, the recommended courses, continue to succeed in other areas of accomplishment. USAFA won’t dink you for not going to college a year early.

Thanks, on another note. I have an opportunity to go work with/on crop dusters this summer. Is that something USAFA would like or is that similar to any other job experience?

Work on as in clean and maintain aircraft? Its a job like other jobs. However, you can probably spin an essay or interview answer into your love of all things aviation, etc.

From what I've been told. It would be somewhat of a shortened, informal apprenticeship. He knows my situation and what I want to do. I'd have to haul fertiliser around, fill the planes/helis and occasionally fly.

As a mother of a college reapplicant, that was Offered an Appointment this year... do whatever you can to gain experience, leadership, and character. He had the opportunity to apprentice at a local gunsmith shop this past summer before his first year of college - it was an incredible experience that allowed him to grow and set him apart from the other candidates. Look at each opportunity as something that will allow you to see a new perspective and use that to your advantage whether it be on your application, in your essays, or even in your interview. Good luck!
