Hello, just a quick question about the transcripts. The guidelines for submitting them say:

Please upload your most recent transcript including final grades for at least six semesters and coursework in progress. If recommended for an appointment, you will be required to submit an official transcript directly from your high school.

How does one submit a transcript by themselves? Doesn't the school usually send them for you like they do for pretty much all other colleges? (which then leads to the question of how do you know if you've been recommended for an appointment?)

Should I request for a hard copy of my transcript from my counseling office and then upload it myself? Or should I email the academy admissions for more information?

Thanks

You should request a hard copy or electronic version and upload it. If it doesn't come straight from the admissions office, it isn't official. They're basically saying unofficial is fine for now but if you get an appointment they will require an official copy from the school just to ensure you didn't manipulate the transcript at all.

The transcript should come directly from your High School, and not from a third-party outfit like Parchment.
Someone will chime in here that knows more about it than I, but I would imagine that the information you need is in your Bears Den online interface.
If not, Admissions would know (or maybe contact the Admissions Officer assigned to you?)

My guess (and that's all it is) is that your High School would send them (with your candidate number) to:

U.S. Coast Guard Academy
31 Mohegan Avenue
New London, CT 06320-8103
Attn: Admissions

I was able to upload an unofficial transcript I downloaded from an online service that keeps track of grade history for my school. I would recommend that you make sure that if you do this, all the information is correct and comprehensive because any discrepancies could be seen as dishonest.

This is why it is best to just get a copy from your school and then upload it. That way you know there are no issues with the grades!
Our DS went to the HS registrars office to request a copy and he picked it up later in the day. Came home and uploaded it.
As for later on in the process: he went back to the registrar and had them send an official copy directly to USCGA. This cost him $5.00.

I didn't want to make a completely new thread for this short question.
I'm a dual credit high school student. My community college transcript just came out today for the completion of Fall 2018. Should I email my admissions officer with the new transcript?

Can't hurt, especially if it shows improvement, but you could always call and ask.
