Hey all, I have posted prior to this post when I was first informed of of my "Hold" status; however, unfortunately I am still on the "Hold" status as a candidate in the state of Massachusetts. I am trying to keep my hopes high but at this point it is getting fairly difficult. USSMA is my first choice school and no matter what happens I will re-apply and cease an appointment the second time around but I was wondering what are the chances of receiving and appointment this time around? Am I still in the race, or is my current journey coming to an end? Thank you all in advance for your replies.

There are status changes daily, including today. I think it is too early to give up. Be prepared with your backup plan but don't give up yet. Wishing you the best.

Don't give up just yet. This is what I was told yesterday -
Currently the class has just been filled according to all State Quotas and that they could make more offers after the medical deadline (16 April) and then 1 May if they fall below based on declinations or those offered who do not respond.

Although it was almost 36 years ago, I received my appointment on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend!

Honestly I'm from Illinois and I've been on hold for 4 weeks. I would just like to know whether or not I will recieve an appointment or not. At this point I just need a clear answer. Also I do t think I can wait much longer for my plan b school because their deadline is rapidly approaching.

Plan B

Even though my DS has accepted his appointment we are going to go ahead with the deposit on Plan B school - just in case. I think this is a prudent behavior for many applicants; the "bubble wrap" just might not stay "tucked in" and anything can happen. If you are truly committed to USMMA you might want to think about accepting on Plan B school and waiting. I think anything can happen right up to July 1st. You don't want to be left with no viable options.

Make sure your plan B is set. You can always give up your plan B deposit should KP come knocking. MY DS had to call his plan B coach and tell him he was going to KP, after accepting a spot as result of big recruiting effort at the plan B school.

Most schools require only a small deposit initially.

Plan B Push

You need to at present, and really from the get go, persue your Plan "B" with the exact same intensity and dedication as your plan A. In the military planning process, we always run with 3 courses of action for any given operation. If you are putting all eggs for success in one operational basket, you may win, but are setting yourself up for failure.

Changes

Well I recieved the "we regret to inform you letter" from the CGA today, not surprised. So I checked my status on the KP website, and I'm no longer on "hold". There is a blank space there now. Didn't think it would go blank, so I am still in limbo.

You most likely will be getting a prep school appointment. PM if you like.

I received a call from the track coach. I did receive a Prep School appointment. I'm both excited and a little disappointed. Now I have to get some info on that.

That could mean sponsored prep school because my space is blank too, however, that space was never filled to begin with for me.
