Hotels for "R" Day

Back to the question of Hotels...we always stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Groton. Luigi mentions that it's nice, but expensive. We've always gotten a CGA rate (even late in the game) but we are Hilton Honors Gold members. (lost the Diamond status when husband stopped traveling for business ) Anyhoo....I would give it a shot, call and talk to the manager. If you don't get the CGA rate, try again another time and talk to a different manager. We've never paid more than 99.00 a night...Rday included (which was NOT 4th of July weekend, however)

Good luck!:thumb:

The Hilton Garden Inn no longer participates in the CGAPA discount program.

CGA Hotel Discounts 2013

When they made that decision last year, we took our business to the Marriott Residence Inn--good rate, free breakfast in the lobby (didn't try it, instead went to Somewhere In Time Cafe, When Pigs Fly Cafe and Niantic Diner/Charlie's Place - all very good for breakfast), and full kitchen in every room. The 2-bdrm units are a little more, but giving the cadet his/her own room and own bath, while still in the same suite, is cheaper than 2 seperate rooms elsewhere.

I recall reading that....but my advice remains the same. Ask and ye shall receive...maybe! I think in this economy some hotels may find a way to keep customers happy.

BTW, the last time we stayed there was PW 2011....so, maybe we will be looking elsewhere for the upcoming visit. I sure hope not...love the clean hotel and the convenient (and complimentary for HHonors members of a certain status) breakfast. Then again, we are almost DONE and may not be in NL again after this year! :thumb:
