OK, my apologies if this is an old question...... (I'm sure it's been asked before)

My son had his medical and opto exams and the dodmets.com site is showing they are complete.

How long will it take for us to get some kind of pass/fail notice and how is that stuff communicated? Someone told me there is another site where the information can be tracked online. Is that true?

It won't be "pass/fail" - it will be Qualified, Disqualified, or Remedial.

Qualified - no worries, he's met the standards for accession.

Disqualified - one or more medical conditions has not met the DODMERB standard and a waiver will be necessary to him to receive an appointment.

Remedial - More information is needed before a decision can be reached. Either paperwork (medical records) needs to be submitted or more medical testing is required.

You can check the status here: https://dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil/default.asp

Thank you for that info! I went to the site, created and account and all that. It says for status "in process". I assume that sort of means that the results got to the point where someone is looking at them and making determinations. Does that sound like the case?

It took a week for son's exams to show up as received, and a month for the remedial requested, then a weekend for that to change to Qualified. Every file is different and my son's exam was late June.

In process means the file is somewhere in the DoDMERB process. Keep checking the DoDMERB site and it will update.

The technical terms used in our letters are:

MEETS Medical Standards or does NOT meet medical standards.:thumb:

dlarts - If you have questions, pls email me at Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. Pls provide your son's full name and last 4 SSN.

For the benefit of other families who are waiting....... let me just say that I was surprised and pleased at how quickly and efficiently these test results were communicated.

Exams were at very end of July. The dodmets.com website let me know exactly how quickly the results were turned in by the doctors (2 business days).

DODMERB Tricare website was updated with the excellent news of a "qualified" result on August 13. Official letter came in the mail a few days later.

As parents, it's hard to wait, but when you think of how many tests are being processed across the country, this is a pretty darn efficient system!!

There is NO average time, becasue there are no average applicants:thumb: If you have specific questions, send me your full name, Last 4 SSN in an email to Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. I can always assist you individually better from there:thumb:
