How are LOAs/acceptance letters rec’d?

Curious to know if letters get uploaded to the portal, emailed, or if they are sent snail mail.
 
An email and the status is changed on the portal from “Complete, Pending Review” to “Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA”
 
When my DD was offered a position last year, everything was done through email until the final steps. Only then did she receive something in regular mail.

Which were the “final steps”, ie when she received it, was every part already in....PFE, essays, DoDMERB?

Applicants will receive an e-mail that their decision letter is available to view on their application homepage...as Aeroman65 said, full appointment packages are also sent in the mail, but conditional appointments, wait list offers, and denials are not sent in the mail.
