How competitive are LOAs? Who are they generally given out to the most?

How tough is it to get a letter of assurance? Is the average act score higher?
 
The AFA has always been known to be the stingiest when it comes to LOAs for the SAs.

I believe it typically is @10% of all apptmts. Many are recruited athletes, thus the SAT score may vary.

Best thing to do is expect NO LOA, or early apptmt. Expect March for an apptmt.
