Just thought this might be a fun question that can hopefully alleviate some of the stress and anxiety of waiting.

I have a funny story myself. I was in the kitchen talking to my mother when I heard my phone ring in my pocket. Just to be funny, I looked to her and over-confidently said, "Oh, it's probably the Congressman." When I pulled the phone out of my pocket and saw the 202 area code (DC), I realized it was the Congressman, and I was in shock.

I had to take a couple seconds to gather my thoughts before answering, and from there on out, it was all "Yes, Sir" and "Thank you, Sir". My mother got a good laugh out of it, too. We're both extremely happy to say the least.

I had come home from taking the ACT in September and was exhausted. I grabbed the mail before coming inside and I saw a TWE from West Point, I had no idea what it was. When I opened it and saw it was an LOA I started laughing and crying, all the while blubbering that I hadn't needed to retake the ACT.

No clue. We weren't there. He called us from school (same day?) and seemed happy enough.

Got a call from a local area code, wasn't the MOC but my mom thought it was when she heard the "Yes, sirs". Got another call an hour later, was the MOC - so that threw her off. Got off the phone and kind of deadpanned "I got into West Point" to mom, she basically exploded. I'm more of a quiet-celebration type so didn't do a happy dance or anything.

I first saw on my portal. I was really dejected after 3 days of false hope from the mailbox. On day 1, I got a package from CU Boulder. On day 2, there was a manila envelope for my mother. On day 3, there was a key in the mailbox for the larger container. I thought "This must be it!"... was an amazon package :( Went home and checked my portal about 5 minutes later. Saw the "Appointment Offered." I refreshed the page around 5 times to make sure it was legit! I started freaking out like a 13 year old at a Bieber concert... BUT it felt so good!!

Haha when you get the BFE, you'll know. Huge West Point logo and label on it.

I had a good feeling I was getting my offer the week I received it. I had a hunch I would receive a phone call during the week, but was pretty sad when I didn't. I sent an e-mail to my FFR asking if my 7th semester transcripts not being in would affect me being admitted. He e-mailed back very quickly and told me to call him. I had just opened up my Portal to see if anything had changed (any docs that needed to be uploaded, etc.) and realized I had a few extra blue boxes. I got a phone call right after and was told I got in. Pretty exciting, even though it was 10 PM!

Similar story to Stonewall. DD had just walked in the house from her college for a weekend visit. The house phone rang and I told DD to answer it, probably will be a congressman.
She answered the phone and I heard "yes sir" & "thank you sir." I was jumping up and down, crying, and clapping my hands. She couldn't contain her small amount of laughter from watching my excitement and had to explain to the representative that her mom was jumping up and down... and he suggested she join me!

I was with my friend in our college cafeteria, I had my laptop with me and remembered I hadn't checked my portal in a while, so I did that, and saw that I had an appointment. I was so overwhelmed after my two year wait that I had to get up to walk around a bit, and then sat back down to see if it was really true. I still kind of am in disbelief...

Got in Purdue on Thursday night, USAFA appointment via email Friday morning. I knew the first wave of USMA appointments were going out, and I texted my dad that Friday that it was "too good to be true that I'd get one". He told me to not get my hopes up, but keep the faith. Got home from school a few hours later to find the BFE in my mailbox. I think it was the best moment of my life!

DS received a call on his cell phone on the school bus to a basketball game Friday at 4:15. He said he noticed it was from Washington DC and answered by saying hello using his nick name... and our congressman was taken back thinking he had called the wrong number. DS realized that it was the congressman and then restated his full name used on his applications. Our congressman congratulated him on his appointment to the Naval Academy and said he blew the panel away in his interview and hoped they could have lunch soon. He also predicted that he would have a double double at the game (he did). The entire basketball team and coaches new of the news before we did. We arrived a few minutes before the game and DS came into the stands minutes before the game started and told us his news! Hugs and tears... He made a three point shot with .2 sec in the game to bring us to over time. They won in double over time. Some night!

My son received a call while at school from his MOC and was confused by the call. He had already received acceptance from Navy and he understood the call to be a second call about Navy. I was working in the yard that following Saturday when the mail truck drove up and the mailman got out to hand carry a large envelope. He knew we were waiting because he had already delivered the Navy BFE and he was retired Navy. That was the most exciting Saturday in forever. After politely chatting with the Navy mailman, finally got away and ran in to the house to find my son. We were both excited beyond words. His dream came true and he is thriving.
