I'm a 100 AFROTC cadet, not on scholarship, and I just received my results from DODMERB, I'm qualified for Airforce CSB (which I don't really know the meaning of) and disqualified for pilots positions for my bad eyesight but can it be waivered, if so how? or has it already been waivered and there's nothing left to do?

You could get Laser surgery on your eyes. Havings said that, dont just go out and do it. It needs to be done in compliance with the AF. You need to speak to your commanders about this. This is of course assuming you are near sighted.

What is your visual acuity near and far corrected and uncorrected?

What is your eyeglasses prescription?

very true I'll talk to them tomorrow, but I thought people get the corrective surgery after achieving a pilot slot, not before but I could be wrong

I'm trying to find that out but I'm betting there pretty bad if I am already DQ'd and my case being closed is probably proof of that

Your vision may have DQ’ed you, but you still may be in the waiverable range without need for corneal refractive surgery.

Now, if you wear coke bottle glasses, then you’re probably not in the waiverable range.

I guess I wear modern day coke bottle glasses, my acuity eyesight is 20/100, according to my last years prescription, in each eye which is past the minimum

At 20/100 you should be a good candidate for eye surgery to correct you vision to 20/20, but I am not a physician. Make sure you work through you chain of command to get clarification on what your options are to get a waiver and if eye surgery is a possible path to a waiver. Make sure you get authorization from your unit prior to having the eye surgery.

I had a similar issue and got PRK done to get 20/20. Keep in mind I graduated in 2014 so this info could be dated. However, once I completed FT and contracted I got my PRK done. At the time you were DQed without question if you got PRK done prior to contracting. However, once contracted I filled out a form and was allowed to get the surgery. Once my eyes were 20/20 I went up for the rated board and got picked up. I then went to WP for my flight Phys and they cleared me to go. I can't cite the AFI off the top of my head but I believe that PRK/LASIK is an automatic waiver now for candidates. Very common these days I guess. Best of luck!
