How do you tell your potential nomination source that you received a LOA?

I've come to the part of preparing for Nominations and I've fortunately received a LOA. My question is how do I inform the nomination source that I have one. Would I put it on the resume that I submit to them? Or would I just state it during the interview? Thank you for any insight someone can provide!

Isn’t there a place on the MOC application form ? In our application form, MOC has a checkbox if DoDmerb completed, LOA received etc.

All the above plus call the MOCs office, or better yet email, and let them know.

I've sat on nomination panels for my Congressman and a few perspective nominees have presented the letter at the interview. But I agree with kinnem above use all means to let the MOCs know.

Nomination applications differ quite a bit, so perhaps not. Also, many LOAs come out after nomination applications are due. I would scan it and include it in the application. Then be sure to tactfully slip it into the interview conversation.

My senator said to only include what is outlined in the required documents, should I still put in my LOA?

Call the nom staffer in the Senator’s office, introduce yourself in a professional and courteous manner, say that you have received a Letter of Assurance for X SA, and ask how they would advise you to include that in your application, and thank them appreciatively.

I know some applicants take copies to interview panels, along with resumes with any updates highlighted.

When I was applying, I was told to scan my LOE over to my MOC's office. However, I believe they are aware if you have one or not.

Back when I was applying, my MOC knew I had an LOA (USAFA) prior to me knowing. They had been notified electronically and I was notified by snail mail so when the notifications went out on Thursday, they were able to slide the information into my packets for both of my senator interviews that Saturday before my official notification came on Monday in the mail. I happened to have been at the Academy for a tour on that Friday before flying home to go to senator interviews so my admissions counselor dropped a hint, but couldn't say I had one outright. There was something special about a Medal of Honor recipient being the first one to officially say I had an LOA and questioned why we were even doing the interview because he knew I was getting a nomination. That was back in 2010, so I would imagine they do most notifications by portal now.

All of that to say, the academies are pretty good about official notification to MOC's considering they know what district you are applying from, but it never hurts to call and speak with the liason to make sure everything got into your package that you believe should be in there. Trust, but verify.

Thanks everyone for the insight! I ended up learning days after that the nomination source knew I had one because they were notified of me having it by an FFR. So I'm good to go and working my ways towards that nomination. Good luck to those who are also working on a nomination!
