I am currently 17 and turning 18 in October. I can vote for this upcoming election (Obama vs. _____) this November.

How does voting occur at the Academy? Do you go off campus to vote, on campus, etc? Any insight is appreciated!

Your birthday in October might be a problem. In order to use the absentee ballot you generally have to be registered. Hopefully your state has a late cutoff for registration and lets your register from out of state.

The first time I ever voted in a voting booth in my state of residence was the first election after I retired after 26 years of active duty! Why? Every other time, I voted absentee ballot from wherever I was stationed. I would order my ballot, and it would arrive in the mail with instructions for completing and submitting.

At military commands, including the SA's, there will be a "voting officer," often the Legal Officer, who ensures information is available about how to obtain an absentee ballot from the state of residence.

To get ahead of the game, go to your state's website, find elections/voting/absentee ballot links, see what it says. All states are different. Luigi's link is even better.
