My DD said that AIM was the most realistic of the summer programs to what you will experience at BCT (but not the academic year). There was a lot of yelling and the structure was no joke. She made a comment that you should train seriously, expect it to be extremely challenging, and don't go to medical. She says: AIM was harder than BCT but mainly because Cadre shouting at you from 6 feet away with masks on was not the same as pre-Covid AIM. I-Day was like a stressful scavenger hunt going here and there and getting things while Cadre yelled at you the entire time. Recommends anyone interested in SAs/ROTC apply and attend AIM.
We went to campus yesterday when it reopened (08/02/2021)! If you've never been, I suggest starting at the Visitors Center and see the displays and do a bit of shopping. Then take the walking trail to the Cadet area. The Chapel is fenced off, but you can go along the path and see Harmon Hall, Polaris Hall, and Arnold Hall, plus the overlook. You can eat in Arnold Hall (Subway, Domino's, Mediteranian grill, Starbucks). From there it's up to you to do the overlooks/fieldhouse and Doolittle Hall for more shopping. This was our first visit inside areas of USAFA. We tried to do everything that we did not want to allocate time for at PW. I fully intend to shop till I drop at the Parents Club tables instead!
