Hello Everyone!
I understand that it is impossible to have a secret formula of achievements to build the perfect profile for admission to USAFA. However, I would be very much obliged if I could get some opinion on how I could better improve my profile.

I am currently a junior at one of the most competitive and academically challenging high schools in southern California. I have wanted to attend USAFA since the 7th grade.
My highest ACT scores stand currently as follows:
Math: 31
Reading:31
Science:32
English:35
Writing:10/12
combined English/Writing: 33
GPA: 4.1 Weighted
My current classes are as follows:
AP Chemistry
AP World History
Honors European Literature (there is no alternative AP Class, but it is a challenging and weighted class)
Honors Pre- Calculus (same situation as English)
French 3
Classes for Next Year:
AP Physics, AP Literature, AP American Goverment, AP Statistics, Orchestra
My Extracuriculars are as follows:
Cross Country (10,11): JV Athelete
Track (10,11): JV Athelete
Orchestra (9,10) (second highest orchestra at my school, will join again in senior year)
Class Council member (10,11): Planning school events like prom and serving the school community
Secretary (10) then Vice President (11) of NHS Astronomy Club ( I am a founding Board member)
Link Crew Leader (11): program for helping freshman adjust into high school life
Super Crew (next year): the top leaders that organize and direct Link Crew
Civil Air Patrol (10,11): Currently working towards Billy Mitchell award, flight sergeant, flight commander, instructor at events, gives leadership experience
CubeSat (end of this year and next year): part of the only high school team in America to be building and launching a small satellite.
Volunteer Efforts:
Administrative work in the Irvine Chinese Cultural Center
Yearly Chinese Dance Performances at the Global Village Festival
Beach Clean up
Mayor campaigning
NHS Astronomy Club Events
Various Air Shows
Volunteer at VITA's Hospice (Visiting patients weekly and administrative work during the summer)
Other:
Top 10 winners in a writing contest about flight
out standing muscian award (9)
Travel on an international orchestral tour to china (10)
Accepted USNA SS

I have not yet taken the CFA and I know there are areas of the test where I am lacking. I am currently working on those elements. Other than that, please let me know of any opinons you might have when reading through this profile.

Thank you so much for your time!

Your stats look good, and your academic resume is excellent. I was wondering though, if you perform so well, why can't you spell athlete?

Strive for excellence if you're aiming high.

On paper you look good, but paper is only so much. As much as they'll look at your resume they'll look for what you convey in your essays, how you sound in your interview, how engaged in the process you are, if you follow all their directions to a tee (one of my senators asked for everything in all caps to see if we read/followed directions), etc. Paper is only half the battle - start the application early, work hard, and don't take the interview lightly. Oh, and don't forget to enjoy your last year of high school.

My bad, I should have looked it over but thank you!

You have built a solid application and will be competitive which is the best any of us can give you. Your test scores are at or above the median. If your unweighted GPA is around a 3.8 then you are at the median. You are taking a competitive AP course load. You could improve your leadership with athletics, but you still check the box there. You are solid on community service.

Think about how you will describe the affect your leadership has had on the organizations you lead. It is about how you lead not just leading. You need to describe why you want to become an officer in the USAF and how gaining an appointment to USAFA will help you meet that goal. More importantly what can you bring to USAFA that may set you apart from other candidates.

Sure your resume and numbers look great, but if any service academy admissions officer or selection committee member saw that you have that "cute kitty" as your forum picture I am sure you would be denied admission instantly; and for very good reason.

Cute little kittens should not be allowed on military forums! choppers, jets, tanks, guns, soldiers, sailors, airmen (and women) with tough faces, blood and guts, dirty boots are all acceptable. Kittens are not. Moderators: who is responsible for letting this one slip through? Quality control has taken a hit here.

I am kidding, of course; but not really. BTW, dogs ARE acceptable. Just not puppies.

Nothing wrong with kittens, lol:)
You look great! You have great chance, now work on leadership (maybe Captain of track?) & interviewing skills. From your stats, I am assuming you are a Chinese-American female, Chinese & Spanish speaking female is a plus! You're on the right track, keep up the good work! BTW: if you want to fly check out USNA! Go Navy!

There is nothing wrong with kittens beyond, of course, they become cats. Maybe if this was the Navy forum kittens would be appropriate. Go Army!

Are you not intending to participate in sports during your senior year?
