How early might I hear?

I received an email yesterday that said my completed record has been scheduled for review in Early Action and will be forwarded to the cadet Candidate Evaluation Board in the next two weeks. It also said that "All Early Action applicants will be notified of their admission decision no later than December 23rd with some applicants being offered the opportunity to be reevaluated during Regular Admission."

The "no later than" part leads me to believe that I could possibly hear earlier that December 23rd. What does everything think? Historically what is the earliest that offers of appointment have gone out for USCGA? Has anyone received an appointment for the class of 2026 yet?
Thank you for any insight!

If I were you, I would plan on hearing SOMETHING by the end of December. Either yes, no, or wait for a little while longer.

Plan on December and be pleasantly surprised if it’s earlier! It really Is a waiting game. Spend your time working your alternate plans. And enjoying for family, friends and senior year.

Some say the application process is hard. I think the waiting to hear is harder.

Two years ago (different world - pre Covid-19), my son received his admission to USCGA on 10 December. He was EA with good numbers but NOT a recruited athlete. He attended AIM (and brought the experience up just the other day in a text to me from USMA).

While there are no guarantees, your best indicator will likley be by looking at last year's results:

Class of 2025: First appointments/conditional appointments on 10 Nov
Class of 2024: First appointments/conditional appointments on 10 Dec

From my understanding, there are (at least) two steps in the admissions decision process. First, your packet is reviewed by two members of the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board. If both of those people give you a positive review, then your packet moves forward to be reviewed by the Committee which consists of several people including the Director of Admissions, other Admissions staff, at least one academic faculty member, an athletic faculty member (this is where the coach can provide input if you are a recruited athlete), and others. Together, the board makes a final decision.
If those first two reviewers give you a negative review, then you are done.
If those first two reviewers are split on their decision, then a third person reviews your packet to decide if you go before the board.
