I am currently a junior in high school and am anticipating being able to start my application process asap. I know that the Academy is going to have a spot in the application to list out my leadership experiences.

Will I be allowed to include leadership positions that were held in middle school?
I ask this because I am a Boy Scout and held the highest leadership positions that could be held while in the 7th and 8th grade (Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader).
While I have held the position of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader in high school, while it is an important leadership position it pales in comparison to being elected by my troop to the highest leadership position at the age of 13.

Thank you

First day of 9th grade has always been the "accepted" answer in the past...occasionally we ALO's have been told "start with the sophomore year" but I don't know one of us that follows that...it's for the candidate's best interest.

PRIOR to 9th grade, my "rule of thumb" that the AFA has agreed with me is: unless you won a national-level award...it's not included.
