How is my CFA?

I'm applying for the class of 25 at USAFA. I took the CFA today. My deadline is November first. Halfway through the run, my left shoe came untied, and I didn't want to waste precious seconds to retie it so I dealt with it. My PE teacher submitted the scores and it says "received and processed" with a checkmark. I know some of my scores are low but not failing, but the run is causing me to worry. Everything from USAFA looks good so far, as in they haven't asked me to retake, but I don't know.

BBall throw - 62'
Pull ups - 6
Shuttle Run - 10.3
Sit ups - 81
Push ups - 54
Mile run - 8:02

May pass but I wouldn’t be surprised if you were asked to retake. Pull ups are very low, shuttle run little slow, push ups low and mile is little high.

I have no clue... but please keep us posted because I would be curious to know whether these are passing.

I’m male. I was asked for a retake this morning. I got the email at 4:30am.
I have until November 28th to do my retake.
Good luck. Looking at your scores, I’d suggest focusing on running and pull ups. An additional 10 pushups would also help. Shuttle run is technique. Put in some good training on the mile but careful about injury. Work hard on pull ups. With a month, they have given you enough time to succeed!

If you can manage, I would suggest doing 2-3 practices between now and your new deadline. You'll be surprised how much you can actually do once your body gets used to the feel of a CFA. Last year, I did a total of three practice CFA's. Now I do three every month, and my scores have skyrocketed. Of course, most of that has to do with additional training, but every time I do another practice, my mile time drops by 10+ seconds.

Look up the Armstrong Pull-Up Program. With the time you have, you should be able to get up to 13ish pull ups if you're diligent and faithful to the program. Sit-Ups look fine (but there's still room to improve), and push-ups might also need a little attention. There are great programs all over this website. Do some digging, and within a month, your scores will be more than passing!

So I agree the fact shouldn't be shared if it's not proven. But I think it can calm some people who have anxiety ( like me) about well everything that's they can't control. Knowing the CFA won't kill a application is reassuring. Now I agree that it does have importance because it shows you have the capability for BCT butttt it's not as important as test scores or the interviews. Also you could be having one bad day it happens all the time (shout out to when my hands sliped slightly forward at 33 push ups so I got 42 instead of the 50 I was used to hitting lol). So while CFA does play a important role it helps knowing it won't ruin you if you don't do the best.

Just so you all understand: No matter what the percentage it is of the scoring matrix, if you don’t pass the CFA you cannot get an appointment. It is a pass/fail test. Again, you must have passing scores on each section of the CFA to get an appointment.

If USAFA asks you to take the CFA a second time it means that you didn’t pass the first time. It means that they see enough good in the rest of your application that they want to give you a second chance. Not everyone who fails their first attempt is asked to do it a second time.

Awesome! Congrats. Let us know if you hear anything in the future.
Update: I appear to have made it. My scores were submitted on Tuesday, and they appear to have been accepted as USAFA has not contacted me further.

Basketball Throw - 57’

Pull ups - 5

Shuttle Run - 10.4

Sit ups - 69

Push-ups - 50

Run - 7:26
Especially since it’s only been two days and today is thanksgiving, maybe let us know next Tuesday or earlier if you hear anything before then?

@Computerman21 Does the CFA box say, “Received and processed by USAFA”?
This doesn't mean anything. I had my check box checked with the message "received and processed by USAFA" for 2 days but on the third day, I was notified via a message on the admissions portal that I was given a retake.

In a way it does. If it has been like that since he said (last Tuesday) then they would've informed him otherwise at this point. I just want to ask if anything changed.
