How is the food at USAFA? Is it different for athletes?
Were you thinking different menu options only they can order? Or different dining hall for athletes? How is the food at USAFA? Is it different for athletes?
Yea, I was referring to both. Is there preferential treatment or do all cadets have the same food options? Were you thinking different menu options only they can order? Or different dining hall for athletes?
May I ask how he ate on a daily basis when he did not eat in the cafeteria? Food from the fridge in the room?My cadet just completed an exchange semester at AFA. He was unimpressed with the dining hall, to say the least. He pretty much only ate there when he had no other option or it was mandatory. On the plus side, AFA allows cadets to have small refrigerators in their rooms (not 4/c unless they get permission), and there were protein drinks and the like available in the gym, so he always grabbed something after a workout.
There is no menu. Breakfast during the week is served family style. Normally eggs with waffles/breakfast sandwich/potatoes/pancakes/etc (i.e. they serve one of those options). Lunch during the week is mandatory, also served family style. It varies greatly, some meals are okay, others not so much (see below). Dinner, as well as breakfast and lunch on the weekend, is buffet style. There are a few choices, but not many. Cadets, myself included, like to complain about it, but at the end of the day, free food is free food (as free as free can be).Yea, I was referring to both.
