How long do CIS transcript updates take?

My DS's application is underway and his CIS shows everything coming in except his HS transcripts (final Junior year). His HS Registrar said she'd mail it out June 15th, but the tremendous piles of paper on her desk made him nervous. How long do you think he should wait before assuming she never sent it and putting another transcript request in, this time certified?

Thanks for any input.

Sent mine on a Monday, was in the system by that Friday.

Quick tip: I had problems with my registrar. What I did was made an appointment with the counselor. Told my mom to come just in case any resistance came from the counselor's end. Sat there while she printed off 10 official transcripts with seals signed and in my HS school's envelopes. I then sent them off on my own to ensure that they would get there. I now have backup transcripts in case I need to send anything to ROTC, etc.

I'd follow up again too. I just checked my son's - I know he'd called the guidance office last week and they told him his transcript was sent out on 17 June. I looked at his CIS and it shows it as received on June 23. Now if we could only get his principal to do the Candidate Academic Information - last thing completed in my son's file last year and looks like this year will the the same for son #2.

Incidentally, if there's a problem, call. My son's CIS only showed one set of his ACT scores and his English score had gone up quite a bit. He contacted his RD's office and when they looked through the records, even though ACT had sent it, their computer had created a whole new candidate for the new scores because evidently the I in his middle name wasn't read by the scanners so it was showing as DAVD instead of DAVID and not put into his file. She updated it that afternoon. :thumb:

Thanks for the info. WooHoo! They showed up posted tonight when he checked. Our school registrar won't let you have even the sealed transcripts to mail. That was one of my questions when planning ahead for the assembly of nomination packets. She insists on you prepaying for your mailed package at the post office with the weight of 13 sheets of paper to approximate the weight of the official transcript, then taking it to her office and only she will mail it after she inserts the transcript, taking out the blank paper. It's a little hard to let go of the trip to the post office where we would be responsible, but there must be a reason they are so strict with the process. This is a large public high school with 400+ in the class, so I feel better about starting all this in the summer when she won't be so overwhelmed. Maybe there is a juicy transcript scandal in the past!

I go to a public school with 350 a class. And couldn't agree more on this part. Even if I don't get into USNA, at the least I've done most of the legwork for applying to colleges. If I had waited until the beginning of senior year, I wouldn't even be able to request transcripts/recommendations until the counselors finished making sure everybody was in the right classes, happy, etc. So that means I wouldn't be able to make a transcript/recommendation request until about the first week of September. While the other 100 kids assigned to my counselor swamp her for recs and transcripts, it'd be likely that I wouldn't get anything sent out from my school until the end of September.

Now I've got all my transcripts, and she's already typed my recommendation...all she has to do is print it. And when 40 other kids bombard my selected teacher for their recs, all they'll have to do is print mine off.
