How long till appointment placards are mailed out

Hi, so I received my appointment to USNA early November. I never received an acceptance letter or anything but I know for sure it’s not a glitch since I asked admissions. That being said, I was wondering how long until the fancy placards all appointees receive will be mailed out. Also, when will the permit to report package be sent out?
 
My kid got his BFE (the fancy placard) about 3 weeks after he accepted his appointment but, from what I've read, delivery times vary widely. He and his classmates received the PTR in early May. If you're curious about the PTR you might be able to find last year's on the Academy website.

PTR is usually populated on USNA.edu in mid-spring. I don’t think it comes in paper anymore. You can browse the forum for earlier this year and find people reporting when it was up. Not in your portal but on website.

In the meantime, Class of 2028 info is still posted. It will start being replaced by 2029 info in spring. Go browse that to get an idea of the To Do list. Not much changes year to year. See link at bottom.

One thing you can do right now, if you don’t have one, is apply for a tourist passport. It is NOT required for report in, but I it’s a lot easier to apply now instead of trying to do it as a plebe. There are many foreign training opportunities, and you don’t want to miss out or be in a flail waiting for it.

Plebe Summer/PTR Link/Class of 2028, will eventually morph into 2029 around May 2025. Work your way through all pull-down menus.

And congrats on your appointment. I just changed up the display of that nice blue appointment folder on our family display wall shelves, for the even nicer commission and diploma for my recent Grad. Wow it goes fast 🤯💨
 
On a similar note, has anyone received a printed copy of their LOA yet?
 
The BFEs can come quick or take weeks. It’s depends on staffing, the mailroom, supplies, etc. It will eventually come.

I do not believe they mail out hard copies of LOAs.
