How often do pilots move?

Hello, I was just curious how often pilots move to another post. Is it the same as other services?

Usually every 3-4 years. Some pilots don't move at all if their airframes are only based at one location.

As a fighter pilot our son #1 has been at 5 bases in 9 years. While normally the moves are every 2.5-3 years, there will also be shorter assignments. Son’s 1-year tour was to Kunsan AB. His 2.5 year assignment in Florida was cut short by a need for IP flight leads in another squadron. Things can vary.

Thank you for the info! As an Army brat, I am used to the 2-4 year cycle, so I was curious if it was the same.
