I have two students at Colorado State University. Since COVID turned learning upside down (so starting for the Spring 2020 semester), they have been allowing students to choose not pass/fail, but instead satisfactory/unsatisfactory. In order to get an S, your actual grade must be at least a C. However, students are advised to look into specific major and scholarship requirements before choosing the S grade as some programs require an actual grade/GPA calculation. An S does not factor into a student’s GPA.
