By applying to USNA, am I automatically considered for NAPS? or is there something separate I need to do?

USNA automatically considers for NAPS everyone who applies for USNA and isn't considered scholastically qualified for a direct appointment. The one caveat . . . your BGO is supposed to ask you whether you would like to be considered for NAPS/Foundation and indicate that to USNA (either "yes" or "no"). I suppose that if you tell the BGO you're not interested, USNA might not consider you.

IMO, there is no downside to saying you are interested. If you are offered NAPS/Foundation, you can always turn it down if you change your mind or decide it's no longer for you.
