When updating his admission file (yay for All-State Choir selection this weekend), my son let an academy know that although he did not receive a nom for that academy he was still very interested and applied for the VP nomination. The admissions person said that the academy could not yet see him in their system for VP nom completed so recommended he check on the status.

My son completed the VP nom process through the webform Dec 26th. There is no portal, login, or anyone to contact listed to make sure it was received.

Any thoughts on how to confirm it was actually received? Thinking of advising him to send it in again in a week or so if the academy can't see it still. Thanks.

Hmmm...my son submitted his VP Nomination application months ago...back in early October. He hasn't received any notification from any of the Academies that it was received. Now I am worried.

I also submitted a VP nomination and did not receive any sort of notification of it being received. My guess is there will not be any communication regarding the nomination until the deadline date at the end of January passes.

I was worried to when DS didn’t receive any response. He ended up submitting it again in case of some glitch. Still nothing. About a month later he got an email from USNA about the VP nomination request. I have no idea what this means and am trying not to rack my brain on figuring out what any of it means...just trust the system.

Update - my son checked with Admissions again this week and they still cannot see his VP nomination application in the system. He submitted around Dec. 26th, about one month ago. He is going to submit again - this is USAFA he was talking to (he has no nom there).

Interesting that you got a USNA VP nom-related notification - he did not receive that though he included all three larger academies on the VP nom app.

DS submitted over Christmas break as well. Did not receive any confirmation. He also followed up with USNA admissions, no response from his admissions counselor either (and she is usually a same day responder). He is going to follow up with a call when he has a chance during proper hours but with these outher posts, I wonder if they will even know 🤷‍♀️.

Seems like there should be an easy “confirmation of receipt” on the actual VP sight since it’s done online.

@williamsdr3 any follow up? Bc of you post, I inquired of DS, who checked, emailed admissions. Followed up with another email and got a response yesterday that USNA did not see his VP application for nom, or nom. She asked he do it again, which he just did, but still no confirmation or acknowledgement either on the VP website, or via email. When he hit SUBMIT, his competed info went to the inter-verse, bringing up the empty template again.

He even submitted it on a different computer.

Anyone else having issues?

I have no follow up - I guess he needs to resubmit this week as I think end of month is the deadline. The academy he was discussing with was USAFA and they did seem to allude to the fact that they are batched over to them.

Seems like not the greatest system for VP nom.

USNA for us. I guess all they can do it resubmit.

VP nom request confirmation just now came through... 2 months (?) after actually submitting the form. Guess the squirrels running their TRS 80 needed a vacation.

Same for us. And at least a couple others I’ve read.

Whenever the SA decides to use them, but typically later in the process, and the dust is mostly settled.

Follow up here (ended up back here from another thread): DS did eventually receive an email from his admissions counselor that they received his VP nom application. Over a month after he applied...even a second time to be sure.

There Isn’t any acknowledgment from the VP site when submitted, and usna admissions may (or may not) acknowledge (I suspect it varies Based upon their work load, change in counselors, etc). This was the case with 2 of our sons.

justdoit19,

What is the status of your candidate DS? I don't remember seeing any info but is he still alive this late in the game at USNA? Sorry if I missed it. And what is an ANG? You already have a midshipman it says and a Midsib and an ANG in addition to the candidate.
