Hey everyone. I live in the 15th congressional district of Florida and was wondering if anyone has an idea of how competitive the district is for nominations or if their is a way to find out, just to get an idea of what it's gonna be like. Thanks!

From reading these posts for a while now, I'm pretty sure the answer is to keep trying hard, take every path available for nomination and then relax since there's nothing you can do about how competitive your district is :).

Easy, call you congressman's office and ask them how many applicants do they get each year for service academy nominations. If the answer is 10 it's not competitive, if the answer is 50+ its competitive. But, does it really matter. Are you going to move to a less competitive district. Are you going to slack off on you ACT/SAT test. I doubt it. Just push through the process and enjoy the ride.

You can also call the WP Admin office and they might give you the number. I found someone there helpful and got a good understanding about NJ 12 but does it really matter not at all. Hard is hard is hard. So work hard and when your tiered that's when you work harder if you really want something bad enough

I live in FL-15 and just received nominations from Ross to all four academies. It's not a very competitive district as long as you do well in school and stay busy. Here is Ross' nomination from last year: http://dennisross.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=398421 . Not too many kids nominated as you can see. PM me if you have any questions about the process/my resume and USNA in general. Best of luck.
