How to Prepare??

Started when I was in the 4th grade. By 5th grade I was in Taekwondo and I made sure while overseas and when I came back to the US that I took the highest level classes I was allowed. Right now, I'd suggest these things:

Find out as much as you can about the Academies and what you would consider doing as an officer
Find a sport(s) to get involved in to keep in shape and develop leadership in
Take the most challenging classes you can

yeah i started about when i was in 8th grade when my brother enlisted in the AF.

I'm not very athletic, any suggestions of sports that will help me at the AFA but I heard cross-country running in high-school helps is that true? I'm open to try anything!

Heck, I only figured out I wanted to go to the Academy about a year ago. Lucky for me, I did everything to prepare myself for a good college anyway, and now I have an appointment.

pretty much the exact same for me. friend told me about it after xc practice last year. now he's applying to USCGA for the class of 2014

Funny story. A class art project was to make a pillow with stuff about yourself on it. Just found it today. I wrote: "I put two missiles on my pillow because when I grow up I want to be in the Air Force."

Wow, that was a while ago. I guess I had the right idea then, though.

when i was little i wanted to be the first "pastor-astronaut" to either the moon or mars. lol. still definitely wanna be an astronaut. walk on the moon hopefully.

When I was three I had my first front seat flight in a Cessna. After that flight I grew up wanting to be a pilot. Applying to the Air Force Academy was the next natural step for me after being in Scouting and CAP. Its nice to know I could still be an astronaut... who knows :D

Dude walking on Mars would be so awesome. I'll see you at NASA for training...
