How to relieve back pain?

Exercise, walking, physical therapy…
Weight loss…
These are the best treatments for chronic back pain.
I agree. I do those things. I used to prescribe those things. I've had six knee surgeries, most of which are due to a bad day with EOD. Well, it was night time actually. I have tears in every joint. Lots of my shoulder pain is from 10s of thousands of batting practice pitches. I switched from ibuprofen to naproxen a few years ago and was on five tabs for awhile but am now on two a day.

Virginia just legalized MJ and I'm thinking about giving it a try. I just don't want to be dull. Can't lose my edge. Being edgy is fun.

I want you to be free of pain, and yet struggle with the thought of Devil Doc with a dull edge.

I fear i

I worry if he medicated while posting, depending on how it takes him, he might get his passport stamped for Tibet again with no re-entry stamp.
Yessss! I cannot imagine a forum where Devil Doc was outside our realm and without internet or access to the world wide web!
I am always concerned my extra glass of red wine may get me sent to Siberia. Cheers!

Naproxen, I find, makes me "jumpy." Anxious, even. Borderline paranoid about aliens and Knights Templar. Can't take it, without thinking the End of Days is coming.

My TRICARE doc says that's an identified abnormality.

That means I'm special....just like what momma told me!

Based on thread I’m leaning toward low dose IB and a cup of coffee.

Crack, with an energizing mix of caffeine and cheap tequila. Mix in some mercury and benzamine for an extra POP.
After the mercury, you won't even remember you had back pain.

Back pain is the worst!!! I am sorry that you all are going through it!!
I had 2 herniated discs and all the terrible numbness, tingling, and shooting pain that accompanies sciatic pain...i was on prescription strength NSAIDs and I was literally crying whenever I tried to sit up, or stand up, due to the pain. I had nearly given up even wanting to live, even after trying prescription drugs, accupuncture, massage therapy, and physical therapy; at this point doctors were recommending that I consider surgery. I was incapaciatated for nearly six months, in such terrible pain every moment I breathed...THEN one day, a stranger told me about the inversion table...10 minutes a day, and in 1 weeks time, I felt relief!!!! After six months of wishing for death, this inversion table gave me my life back in a week. Now, I swear by it. The table will hang you incrementally upside down and give "reverse" gravity (ankles are locked in) and stretches everything out..it took the pressure off my disks in the spine...anytime I am feeling "twinge-y" or achy I get on it and "just hang" for a few minutes.
Of course, you should speak to your doctors first to see if that is a good option for your case, blood pressure, ankle or knee problems, other underlying conditions and you MUST have someone 'spot' you while you are on the inversion table, but it has worked wonders for me.
After 2 weeks of the inversion table, I started to do some light walking, started strengthening exercises finally. As other posters are recommending strengthening your core is essential to prevent future issues.
Wishing everyone freedom from dibilitating back pain!!
I am so grateful for the inversion table because it relieved my pain NON- invasively and without drugs.

No bourbon, either?

Count me "out."
