How worried should I be?

Hi, I'm a sponsored Navy scholar stressing out a bit because the quarter here at GMC ends in 4 days and I'm sitting with my chemistry grade at a C (75.81). I have all As in my other classes and chemistry is the only outlier. I've tried everything in the book to try and bump up my grade (studying methods, going to professor office hours, tutoring, etc.) but nothing will help me improve my test grades. At the beginning of the quarter, we were in plebe phase which took A LOT of time out of our days for studying which could be a part of the issue. Should I be worried about whether or not I will get my appointment?

Don't sponsored cadets have to meet a 2.0 Gpa average? For Coast Guard Scholars thats what is needed for appointment I believe but I don't know about Navy except for NAPS which my son attended and again I believe it was a 2.0 Gpa.

You'll likely have a conversation with CAPT Hughes when the grades are posted. He's the only one who'll give you a firm answer.

Having said that, I've never seen the foundation pull a scholarship unless a student is failing their classes. So, keep working. Repeat your homework and your reading. Retake your tests on your own. Repetition is the key to learning.

Its supposed to be tough, and challenging.
The general rule, for NAPS and Prep, is successful completion of the program. Foundation will define success.
(For reference, I went home for Christmas when I was at NAPS with Calculus scores in the 60's (back in 1980) and graduated on to USNA.
The rest is history!
