Is there someone in the Great Neck area that could do a personal favor (surprise) for my mid by delivering a surprise? PM me please if you have the time. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Huge Favor?

A stranger asking someone to deliver "something" to a mid as a surprise is not a good idea. And then asking some to PM is a bit suspicious... You may want to reconsider this request...

I did not want to go into details therefore asked someone residing in Great Neck to private email me if they had the time. The surprise has to do with a gift since my mid had an accident and was taken to the hospital last night. Nothing suspicious about it.

Doesn't seem like too strange a request to me.

Now if in the PM they said "I have a box at a mail drop that I'd like you to deliver unopened" well then that would be a different story.

Unfortunately a lot of the "good" places in Great Neck don't deliver and you have no other way to get "stuff" to a midshipmen from a fresh bakery or other local place, so this may be one of the best ways to find someone.

Not everything on the internet is nefarious (just almost everything  )

What, those weren't real Nigerian Oil Ministers that I sent money to?

I'm still waiting on my money from my deceased husbands accout in Nigeria! Oh, whoops! Here he comes in the door now. I guess wasn't true! :shake:

Gift

It doesnt seem like a strange request to me either.I may be picking son up for the weekend, but havent heard from him yet and would have no prob doing that favor

Thank you to all the non-suspicious USMMA parents for your responses. I was able to find BRUCE'S BAKERY to deliver as a surprise. When we are states away it is nice to know that someone living close to the Academy is willing to help. Thank you again.

Helping parents out

There are a number of us who love to help. We are there for the students, for their needs and to encourage them. We also are there to help the parents. You can call on the group at Cookie Cafe any time. We will either do things personally or work out a way that it can be done, if possible. This request is not out of the ordinary.

Hope your son is okay!!

Sorry to hear about your son, glad to know it is nothing major.

FYI - in the future, you may want to begin your quest with the Parent's Association, they are a fantastic resource for out-of-town families, and I've never heard of a KP parent's club (nor a KP parent, for that matter) refusing a reasonable request from a fellow KP parent. :thumb:

Glad that the mid will be OK. The local parents association is a great place to start if someone from far away needs something.
