Background...

I've played football (what we call soccer in the USA) since I was able to walk; the benefit of a childhood growing up in England. When we came back home to the US of A, it was tough to find a team but I was able to. I played until I had my left knee replaced at age 56. I like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable of the game; I still get up early on the weekends to watch the Premier League matches.

So...somebody, some wise soul, some prescient individual, PLEASE tell me what the following means?!!!
England United States
FORM: DWDLL FORM: DDDLD

I mean, I know football/soccer! I really do!! Heck, I'm even sorta conversant in cricket (ask your average Brit about that and you'll either get a lengthy explanation on how it's God's gift to sport OR you'll get a glassy eyed look...)

So, thinking of Ben Stein...

PLEASE tell me what the following means?!!!.... that the US shouldn't advance past pool play??? but they might.

Draw
Win
Loss
Is that what you are asking? It likely represents their record in pool play. In the US we would say England: 1-2-2 US: 0-1-4
I don't know.

If that's correct, and now I'm going to have to go digging some...why would it show five when there's only been 3-4 matches so far?
(They also show this on the weekends with Premier League matches as well)

Hmm...

Results from the last five matches on the international stage (or in prem/L1/UCL etc.)

Draw England
Draw Wales
Draw Saudi Arabia
Lose Japan
Draw El Salvador.

Essentially equivalent to saying 0-1-4, but this way is more useful as you can see the order of the results of the last five matches.
