Humor for my Navy and Marine friends

That photo looks pretty accurate for Permit class and Sturgeon class boats, but I have never seen berthing in such disarray.
Not that I have a lot of experience on those things, but that berthing looks pretty sloppy.

I will add that the Aft Escape was usually used for cold food storage, at least in the Permit boats.
Happy Thanksgiving, @SaltiDawg.

Actually, I mis-spoke. I'm not sure what class boat that picture of canned-good storage - "Walking Deck" - not cold storage.

My Nuke experience was on three SSN-637 Fast Attacks. Never stowed anything in Escape Trunks. On a long trip, never took refrigerated goods - no milk, no fresh produce, etc. Converted Chill Boxes to Freeze boxes. Stored eggs in Diesel Room on deckplates. Had eggs for up to 90 days with very little spoilage at the end.

I also served on two Diesel Boats. We'd store food in the showers - next to the Officers' Golf Clubs.

We on surface sub-hunters also store eggs outside the reefers. They are dipped in warm mineral oil to delay spoilage.

It’s from earlier this year, but Peloton’s holiday ad was being criticized because a husband gave his wife one. There is always a critic.

I saw a Peloton parody video several days ago from a disgruntled woman who got the gift. Extremely funny.
