Humor for my Navy and Marine friends

Ha! I assumed the Cargo Socks were real. They would have been a hit in my day.

I honestly don't know if this was a "Marine" thing, or all services, but we were not supposed to carry anything in our dress uniform pockets. So the go to place for your ID, wallet, smokes, and just about everything else was your socks. To be honest, I still do this on occasion today depending on the fit of the trousers or suit I am wearing.

I will second the nothing in your pockets thing.

Now however, it seems totally acceptable (at least for MIDNs) to walk around in uniform with a smart phone in their front trouser pocket. It is especially noticeable in Summer whites. I think it looks awful.

Absolutely nothing in pockets including hands! Had that little holder that strapped around your ankle for smokes.

Okay, at the risk of an all out nuclear exchange...

When AF cadets were caught with their hands in their pockets (and some JROTC cadets I know) you'd hear someone shout loudly "No NAVY gloves!!"

Hands would quickly be withdrawn.

From my “Broadside” feed today. So true!! Especially the turtle thing. We found a bowl with dog kibble in it in our HHG shipment one time. At that time, we did not have a dog.
