Hurt Locker

tpg,

Although my rose colored glass is always half full, I think I can say objectively that the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines I've seen portrayed in in the likes of Restrepo, Combat Rescue, Severe Clear etc. shock me in their clear-eyed willingness to carry out their missions.

I am one of lucky ones with neither the personal experience nor memory of those events. I can watch, be impressed, and be proud of them. It does make me keenly aware of the responsibility we have as citizens to know as much as possible about their sacrifice and to make sure that our elected leaders are doing right by them.

Speaking of movies, I can only wish that Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, Ahmed Chalabi, and Co. could be forced to watch these documentaries "Clockwork Orange" style. To this day I do not believe they have a clue about what they were asking 18 and 19 year olds and their 24 and 25 year old commanders to do. How could they?

Sigh! I do not watch war movies. I have no need too as I have my own that are on an instant rewind in my own mind. Just saying....:thumb:

I understand. I was a tank platoon leader in 3rd ID during the OIF invasion and always wondered what the Marines going up the middle went through. Severe Clear was just home movies from Marines and really showed the difficulties they faced.
