I -Day and Plebe Parents Weekend 2021

If you get into Annapolis early is public parking available? I am familiar with the dock street lot and the parking garage, it will be a walk but will the visitors gate be open.

Yes. If you can find a spot, Gate 1 allows pedestrian traffic.

Fingers crossed it's a miracle and maybe a nice 85 degree day with no humidity (hey we can all wish right!).

Last year's I-Day was just that: glorious. Low 80's, light breeze, moderate humidity. Unfortunately for the plebes, that beautiful weather presaged an ungodly hot and humid plebe summer. Stepping off the plane for Plebe Parents Weekend in August was like getting smacked with a smoldering sledgehammer wrapped in old, sodden towels.

If you have a DOD ID that allows normal base access, you can park on the Yard in spots not designated for staff/faculty/mids - they fill up EARLY. Use Gate 8 if you have one of those.

I think all get a letter allowing a drive-on and drop-off, but I do not think parking is allowed.

The City garage off Main St., Hillman Garage, is an all-day option, a few blocks to Gate 1 or Gate 3 (Maryland Ave).

Street parking is either metered for two hours or may be two hours free but READ ALL SIGNS! Many of those spots allow 2 hours, though they are unlimited for downtown residents with stickered cars. Some on King George St. may allow longer, maybe 7, but that won't cover your day. The City of Annapolis makes a steady stream of income from tickets. They also catch you if you try to spot-hop two hours here, two hours there.

If your hotel doesn't have a shuttle, dump the car at the Stadium and ride the bus.

Thank You Capt MJ! Planning on staying with free points/nights at Marriott and will park in town somewhere, don't mind walking several miles, lol.

How early do the buses begin running from the stadium?

Probably leaving by 6:00 am to make 6:15 am report time, and probably even earlier runs.

I can't imagine DS could make his 6:15 report time if the buses start at 6. Hoping for a little earlier. How would I be able to find out?

It's definitely under 15 mins from stadium to Alumni Hall via Gate 8 at that time of the day. Any clear info/flyer on the shuttle in PTR package?
