We are dropping off our son for I day on the 29th of June, and are trying to figure out when to schedule flights out for some of our relatives who need to leave on the 29th. We don't want to miss anything, so does anyone have a schedule for that day? I know we drop off the cadets earlier in the morning, and then there is a Picnic that ends at 1:00pm or so. But is there anything after that? What would be a good time for our relatives to fly out without being in a hurry, or missing anything?

We are staying till the next day to see the swearing in, but want to make sure we don't miss anything by having to drop in-laws and out-laws off at the airport.

Thank you in advance!

Drop off times will vary from about 0645 to 1115 or so, depending on BCT squadron assignment. You probably will be notified of squadron assignments about 2 weeks before I-Day.

Other than the events put on by the Parents club, no other planned events for that day. Swearing in is the next morning

Thanks for the reply... I was wondering about the schedule for the whole day, including the Parents Club. I know they have a picnic that goes to 1:30 or so, but I wanted to make sure we didn't miss out on anything after that.

Thanks...

As said above the morning is all about dropping off Cadets and it goes fast. Once dropped off your Cadet has about 15 minutes before they get on the bus. There are a couple of opportunities to see them but not speak to them during this time. There are booths for you to go through with information about Academy. There is also a tent with merchandise. Last year, there was a parent orientation after the picnic. That was it for I Day.

The next morning get there early and bring binoculars. Most watch from the Chapel. It last a couple of hours and then is over.
