I-Day Transportation

Okay - as many times as we have visited Annapolis, I still can't figure out the transportation system....yikes. We are staying at the Doubletree and I understand that they have a shuttle for I-Day. (Son's report time is 9:00 a.m.) However, how do we get back to our cars at the hotel? Taxi? Shuttle? Trolley? Do these run after 7:00 p.m.? Do we go back to the hotel after dropping son off and then move our cars to Memorial Stadium? What will the lines be like to get back over there? Any advice? Thank you.:confused:
 
The shuttle driver will have a card for you. You just call the hotel when you are ready to return and they will tell you where to meet the shuttle. We stayed on the yard for a little while. We took advantage of the free tour for families. We returned to Doubletree for a little while during the afternoon and returned to the yard before swearing in. We called the hotel again for the shuttle. The return shuttle is less organized than the one to yard. You may need a little patience for that return trip after swearing in because everyone will be ready to go back at the same time. Hopefully they will have both vans running.
 
Good to know - however, we are not staying that night....checking out on Wednesday morning......hmmmm......wonder if we will still be able to get that shuttle back to the hotel.
 
That should not be a problem. They will keep your bags for you if you don't want to keep them in the car.
 
There also is the option of driving to the stadium - IDAY parking is provided there and taking the Academy shuttle to the yard. Alow a bit of time for traffic etc. Getting shuttle back - the lines can be very long after the Plebes march into Bancroft.
 
Lines after they go back into Bancroft are long...and full of moms crying!
 
I guarantee the dad in this family will be crying too.
 
I'm thinking I should pick up some of those wrap-around shades for my husband!!!! I'm already crying watching the graduation on the pentagon channel......I don't even know anyone there! LOL!
 
I didn't cry watching graduation...but someone asked me what I had on my pc, and I could NOT talk about it!!

Working on that military "bearing" that I'm so terrible at.
