My son is traveling to COS alone on June 23. What is the best way for him to get from the airport to his hotel on 6/23, then from his hotel to the campus on 6/24? This anxious mom would love to fly with him, but it’s not in the budget if I want to see him over Parents’ Weekend.

Uber to the hotel and then to usafa, for I day they will let them on for sure!

For I day, I was reading in the appointee booklet that ubers will be turned away. They will allow certain taxi services onto base that have already been pre approved. It’s lists their contact info in the booklet somewhere. I would recommend that, or if your son is feeling social, he can find another basic cadet in his same squadron at the hotel he is staying at, and ask that basic cadet and his parent if he can catch a ride with them.

I am sure you belong to the parent page for class of 2025. Others have posted on there and since squadrons and times have been released, it should be easy to figure out on there.

I assure you there will be more than willing parents at your sons hotel that will take him at his appropriate time. Tell him to just look in lobby there will be all sorts of people wearing blue and don’t be shy to ask.

Perhaps post here ...."Ride needed on I-day" I'm sure you will get a lot of volunteers!

Make a post on the Facebook Parent Class of 2025 page that your son needs a ride from his hotel. I guarantee a parent will offer a ride. We took another cadet last year who needed a ride and his mom was very appreciative. It helped with the nerves and we took a few pics for her at the drop off.

Just a note from the authorization to travel form. "If you are staying with someone (friends, etc.) who has multiple appointees, you may all show up at the earliest appointee’s scheduled start time." I believe this means you could find a ride with anyone at the same time/before yours, but someone please correct me if I am wrong.
