hopefulmom....our 2010 girl left several days early ( I think she left on friday before I'Day if I recall correctly ) from San Diego to Maryland. She wisely thought she should give herself a few days mental transistion and weather-transistion. ( to adjust to a more humid climate from our more arid one). I contacted the USNA Maryland Parent's Club and a family not only volunteered to host my girl...they picked her up from the airport, took her sightseeing, took her to church with them ( my girl's request ) and on her early I-day report time got her there in plenty of time. The dear mom then called me to tell me how good my girl looked throughout her Induction time. They had a girl USNA 08, so they were more than happy to be a long-distance mom to another mid-girl.
So this is another, more personal option. Let me know via private message if you can't find the USNA Maryland Parent's Club information.
