I have read numerous posts saying how you can show up on I-day with nothing, literally .

However, how come there is the suggested list of clothing on the PTR information part?

My current plans is to wear a pair of running shoes, wear regular clothing, and bring my paperwork.

USNA suggests bringing a lot of stuff. Most of it you really don't need -- it's just stuff to carry around at best and have taken away from you upon arrival at worst (yes, you'll get it back for Ac Yr).

So, most (smart ) people bring the minimum (clothes on your back, paperwork, wear running shoes), which is fine for the first few days, figure out what extra stuff they really need and have their parents/friends send it to them.

Girls: bring a hair brush and a small cache of female plumbing supplies.

Again for women: You will be issued sports bras, but they may not be a brand you like, or ones that will hold up well. Recommend that you bring a few of your preferred brand (white). Champion brand is great, if you don't already have a favorite.

The ones we are issued are champion and they're actually pretty great. Every girl i know (including upperclass) still wear the issued ones.

i would recommend bringing a few extra just in case you miss laundry pick up during ps or something.
