I Gave Thanks

In the hospital this morning with dad who is not doing well. Phone rang and it was DS calling from far away. I gave the phone to dad and the grandfather and grandson spoke. When they finished the old man turned away and I saw a tear roll down from his eyes. It is the little things that get you through the day.

I gave thanks
 
Very touching, and brings home what today is really about...family and giving thanks to be with them, even if it is only via a telephone line.

I'm hoping that in a few months you'll be able to share joyous news about the family reunion.

I can't help but think how "lucky" (and blessed) to have spent the weekend with him and my mother. We spent Friday driving around our family's ancestral home with my sons. It was one of the best days of the holiday.
