I have a 24 ACT. Should I wait for regular decision in hopes of a score increase?

I am considering applying early action with a 24 ACT. All of my other accolades are outstanding and go way beyond their requirements. Would I have a better chance applying early action or waiting to retest once more then apply regular decision?

Only you can make that decision. The academy is looking for well-rounded cadets, academics is only part of it.

Make lemonade out of lemons . DD had so- so SAT scores when she applied for EA. She was not offered a spot for EA. She told her admissions officer she was determined to improve her scores and would keep them posted on her progress. She enrolled in a SAT 4 week boot camp that met 6 days a week for 1 to 2 hours per day after school. Retook the exam 1 week after the last class and blew away her previous score. I don’t recall the actual score but it was well above the average score suggested to be competitive. She continued to what ever she could to improve her chances for RA. She kept in contact with her AO as-much as possible without being obnoxious. She was not offered a spot for RA but was put on the wait list. Continued with what ever she could do to show she was determined to be member of the class of 2023. The first week of the wait list being opened she was contacted by admissions. After a very long journey DD is now a very happy 4/C.
I know it doesn’t work this may for every applicant, but you will never know until you try. But if you don’t try it definitely won’t work.;)

After just returning from Genesis my understanding of the difference between the process at EA and RA is as such.

EA can have 4 outcomes 1. Offer Place 2. Reject 3. Offer Scholarship 4. Hold
The 4th outcome Hold means your application is held and reviewed again at RA.

RA can have 4 outcomes 1. Offer Place 2. Reject 3. Offer Scholarship 4. Waitlist

You can update your application throughout the lifecycle of the process as USNA2014PP mentions above.

So I should apply early action but then just update my scores if I don’t get one EA.

I am not advising anything, simply stating what the process is. You have to make the decision on whether you feel your application is strong enough now not to result in an outright rejection if submitted at EA.

I would call the USCGA admissions office tomorrow morning and get the official policy of what happens if you do not receive an appointment during EA. Policies can change and have changed from year to year.
Maybe Objee will respond with the current policy.

The process I have laid out was stated during Genesis on Monday this week.
