Talking to my daughter recently she commented that very few (if any) of the folks applying for in-school scholarships are having much luck and it seems to be due to budget cuts. (Gee, maybe the President spent it all).

Anyway, I am wondering if with so many folks here with great records continuing to wait are running into the same issue. Have any applicants specifically been told or seen that they are maintaining numbers from previous years of is there maybe somewhat of an un-announced cutback on scholarships going on. It would seem to go a long way towards explaining why so many high caliber applicants find themselves still waiting.

An ROO posted a while back and said that a hold had been placed on campus-based scholarships until further notice.

However, last week it seems that 5-6 posters rcvd scholarships-a couple said they were campus-based. Maybe that policy has been loosened up?

What the ROO was discussing was the 3 year scharship that you could get after you were on campus, after your freshman year. Those have been on hold

The other campus based scholarships are still here, many have been offered them this year. I know my son's top choice school was going to have 2 campus based scholarships to give out. They didn't do it until may or June. Another school wouldn't even give them out until school started.

If you do a search you will find that scholarships have been cut by as much as 50% at some schools. This was the case at all the schools my son looked at. Guess Funds have been greatly reduced.
