If you are over 50 perhaps you remember this "Marine". He never made it to Vietnam - but boy could he sing. I would give anything to have the pipes that he did. A couple of interesting asides: the CMC promoted him a few years ago first to Lcpl and then the next one promoted him to Corporal. Also- the guy who played Gysgt Carter - Frank Sutton was an Army combat infantryman in the Pacific during WW2 - I believe with the 503rd PIR and saw combat in NewGuinea & the Philippines. That is by the way the real US Marine Band playing behind him ("Souza's Own")
Enjoy this sunday morning waltz down Memory lane- here's to you Gomer- Shazaam!

Before he enlisted, he taught us the super-secret method of signaling to others on your recon team: "hootie-hoo, hootie-hoo"

I watched that silly show in the 70's and still enlisted in the Marines! :shake:

And to think PFC Pyle left Goober's fillin station in Mayberry for the glory of the USMC.

Ha I used to love the show Gomer Pyle (eventhough I'm 18). They used to have reruns all the time down in Texas
