If you don’t hear back by 4/21, you didn’t receive a direct appointment correct?

My DS also received the dreaded TWE this morning and one of his next step options is Embry Daytona..... yesterday he thought if he received the TWE he’d reapply; not sure that is still this case with this sting so fresh....

Sorry on the twe but nice to hear my DS will have at least two great classmates with him...and sure many more.

Ours too but we went last year and had a tour then when we were initially considering. We also know many students who are there and a huge part of ROTC. If you want message me your information and I will get my son to reach out. It is always good to have someone there to link up with. :)

My son had gotten accepted there too in their engineering program. It was high on his list... but it was also really expensive... we enjoyed visiting the school. Nice campus! Good luck!

It is an AMAZING campus and the ROTC program is also exceptional. I believe the path they take is where they are meant to be and this is only the start of their journey.........
 
People can get knocked off the wait list well into May. So the April drop dead dates don't apply to wait listed folks. Just saying.
 
non-select for DS - USMMA still in the queue, the wait continues
 
Welp. Got the TWE. No Direct Appointment, no prep, nothing. Seems like a lot of very strong candidates are getting denied this year. Not sure what USAFA was looking for. Oh well.
Trying again next year
 
DS got non-select this morning as well. Strike two, still waiting on USMA. At lease plan B in place, AROTC to UK to major in Management, minor in Russian Studies and Military Leadership. Best of luck to the USAFA class of 2024!

You have to have at least 5 posts and be a member for a week. After the 5th post, it may take a day or so for system refresh.
 
Guys I know it is difficult and demoralizing I was there with my son last year. There is no rhyme or reason why some kids get in and others don’t. If you look at stats from the candidates they are every bit as strong as appointed candidates. Go with your plan B and do great ! VT, ER, TT these type schools are really a plan AA not a plan B. Another thing, although it is a long shot keep grinding and working hard because out of the blue albeit like actually winning the lottery an appointment is still possible although unlikely.

@Dad_2024 and @19K20 Gents, any good idea on what the consensus may be at this point if no email or portal update with TWE has been received? Best I can tell from the folks who have posted regarding timing, seems ~ 6:30am EST when notifications showed up. It's possible, or even likely, I suppose, that more have trickled in since then, but posters have not specified and from what I can gather, historically, it seems like there is one overnight upload of data from which emails are sent and portals are updated.

All that said, we're still dealing with the unknown, which presumably can mean any of the following:
- More TWEs are coming throughout the day today, as I think either @shiner or @Capt MJ pointed out with the COB posting.
- No TWE today could mean still on the bubble for consideration for Direct Appointment - perhaps only after others decline their offers - given that today was supposed to be the deadline for direct offers and so far, none are listed in the appointment thread.
- Perhaps not being considered for Direct Appointment, but maybe for Falcon/Prep, thus the reason for no TWE.
- Any other possibilities I am overlooking?

Just sitting here thinking out loud.
 
@HudK9 i feel that you may be overthinking the situation and just need to calm down. I myself am in the same situation as you and I really want some closure. However we can’t change anything now so we should just relax

Valid point. Just hard to relax when the train is this far down the tracks with no definitive answers.

From what I've picked up in these forums, you've hit the nail on the head.. Until a TWE comes, we'll sit and wait..
