Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions regarding the 2yr ECP scholarship I was offered after the first board (I apologize if this post is a little long. I just have a lot of questions). As far as I know, these are usually offered to those who are projected to fall just below the 3yr scholarship cutoff line. My first question is, how do I go about declining the scholarship? (it's not something I wouldn't wanna do, I just wanna take my chances with the other boards though).

My second question is in regard to what I can do to ensure that I don't end up falling below the cutoff line. Since the first board, I've gone through my application and increased my activities list from 7 to 14 items (I didn't realize how much I'd left off), and I improved upon my essays a fair amount. Is there anything else I can improve at this point?

If not, am I looking competitive?

Sorry to say, improving your essays won’t help, because your file has already been boarded and scored. Your essays only get looked at once by the board and the PMS that interviewed you probably looked at those essays too. Water under the bridge.
Adding activities will help. You application generates it’s own score that goes into your OML score, so making sure you list all your activities will help.
The only other things you can really do to inch your score up is retake your PFT and get better SAT/ACT scores.

As far as declining your ECP offer, if you received an offer letter or email it probably had instructions on how to accept or decline the offer. Reread the offer and let us know if you still can’t figure it out. One option is just not to respond. In all likelihood the offer will be withdrawn at some point.

Thanks for the reply! I do have one question however. To retake your PFT, could the proctor I used just pull up the email from before and then re-upload the scores, or is there something else I have to do?

You can download a score sheet. Have the proctor fill it out and then scan and email or scan and upload the new test results.
