Has anyone heard anything from Burris or Durbin? And does anyone know how competitive Illinois is?

We are from IL. Son received LOA. Have not heard from either senator or congresswoman. Good luck.
 
I'm from IL10 with an LoA to USMA. I haven't heard anything yet.

I received a letter dated October 23rd from Senator Durbin's office stating that my nomination file was complete. I called a week later and the woman on the phone told me that Durbin does not interview - the committee will be reviewing the files on the weekend of December 5th.

I also received an LOA to USNA - I already had my congressional interview but haven't heard anything yet.

As for Burris, who knows....

I emailed and then called Burris's Office, and My'Ron McGee (the staffer) told me I had received a nomination. I haven't received any formal document confirming the phone call and emails though.
 
yup. Call Burris's office if you don't want to wait for the slow mail. They have already made their decisions. Durbin's office is reviewing the files this weekend. So I'd be patient for his.
 
Son did not receive nomination from Burris. Pretty disappointed. Still waiting to hear from Durbin and congresswoman.
 
Depending on the district in IL, it can be very competitive.

I know in 13 IL, there are at least 25+ people applying for sure, and several others as well, which is a lot for one district and a state with no Academy!

Did not know that Burris had decided already; I knew that Durbin would be deciding eary December, but was not aware that he did not require interviews.

Good news is hopefully no interviews!

Guess I get to join the waiting game (again!)- at least until I can call on Monday!

I'm sure the letter is in the mail somewhere along its way. I was calling to ask if I could switch my application to the Naval Academy (my representative nominated me to USMA with LoA). Mr. McGee said that he was notified that I was already nominated and that he could not switch me to the Naval Academy pile because the decisions had already been made. I'm sure you could call tomorrow and ask, or just wait for the mail. This call was on Thursday.
 
I just received a nomination to USNA from Burris today in the mail.
I also have an LOA to USNA. Very excited. also from 13th district. Good luck to everyone!
 
Good news. My son received a nomination from Durbin! Letter came in the mail this afternoon. We are over the moon!
 
Congratulations to those receiving nominations. I got a letter today saying that I did not receive a nom from Durbin. Thankfully, I have a presidential nom and a LOA. Good luck everyone!
 
Yippee! DS (fusafac14) Received his nomination letter from Rep. Halvorson yesterday!! We are all very excited and relieved! :jump1:
