It has been quite a while; however, I'm back. I had to step away because of a new position I took...way too many hours in the office, moved on from that to a normal life.
Okay so I currently have one that is a 3rd class midshipman at the U of South Carolina and two more following the journey.
The 3rd class is doing great, maintaining a 3.25 GPA and thinks he can do better now that he is used to everything.
For the other two, one will grad from UCONN in May and is going NUPOC. He had applied for the NROTC scholarship in HS and not the Academy I think it was one player in not getting the scholarship. His journey / dream continues!
My daughter now has here eyes on the Academy as well as NROTC but likes the Academy path best. She applied and attended the summer STEM program this past summer. I honestly did not know what to expect but her quest started. She was sent a flyer for the STEM again but she thinks it is important to give others a chance. Instead of STEM she wants to attend the CREW camp and looks forward to applying for NASS next year. She lettered in crew her freshman year and is now thinking of rowing in college. How is it that girls are so calculated in their planning?
She is on a fair path with a 4.2 GPA and top 10% of the class. Currently is on the Fall and Spring Crew team, winter track team and the Skeet team at my gun club. She also has leadership and vol work. Waiting on her PSAT scores but she will be taking the next set of ACT and SAT the next go around.
Good to have more family time and be back looking at the forum.
Happy New Year!!
