I'm Confused!!

My DS is a Plebe in the Class of 17. He met a Mid at NASS last summer that is colorblind. I believe this Mid is set to go into the Navy Restricted Line and Staff Corps. Granted, the numbers are small for the Restricted slots, but it sounds like colorblindness is/was not a total disqualifier.

And my DS was DQ'ed with DODMERB but got a waiver as well. The irony was the test he failed was due to faulty test equipment and this has apparently been an issue that impacted others. Not to say all DQ'es are waivered, but if you are DQ'ed, press forward.

I think what's important to remember is, don't give up with a single DODMERB letter. Each one is like a punch to the gut. You think "my journey is over"... or "my dreams have ended".... and the way a DODMERB letter is worded doesn't help. Remember MANY MANY MANY people have to deal with those letters, they do the additional work required by the letters and finally receive their full acceptance letters.
