Im not happy....

I'm still waiting patiently for these horrors to unfold in the media.

It's when you don't have real world events happening at the Academy you have to ask yourself what is wrong.

Or get everything you need to know about this topic and every other cadet behavior from the Yak right from the cadets themselves in realtime -- if you have the stomach for it.

To your point, I've never even been on Yak. It's their place to vent and shoot the bull.

I don't wanna know. LOL.

The academies have had drug users, drug dealers, drug smugglers, burglars, thieves, rapists, and even murderers. When you throw 1,000-4,000 young people together anything can happen, even among the best and brightest.

Why all the eagerness? Some like to watch train wrecks too I guess. If your kid is involved you already know. If he /she is not, then you don't need to know.

What LITS said.

And because, like AJC stated, big rug big broom. It is now well known by a few thousand people that something extremely illegal took place at USMA. Should it just be swept under the rug? Actually, you have no idea how hard all of the SAs work to keep bad stuff like this out of the press. Living at WP was, at times, like living in an alternate reality. The story needs to be told but I fear that unless charges are brought forth the public will never hear about this situation.

"Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman."

Of course the guilty should be punished. And boy I love a good disinfectant. What I don't love is someone eager to do read bad news. Someone that revels in the anguish of others. That's a shadenfreude.

It happens often on these forums.

"If it bleeds, it leads."

Unfortunately it's what people consume.

And that's just one reason I love puppy videos.

In a short amount of time the main stream media will be reporting about an incident that has occurred at West Point. Im very upset with the myopic view a few bad cadets in their decision making in their lives. The ripple will be felt and it will sting. For those who are about to experience R-Day I want you to know West Point is the premier Leadership Institution and recognized around the world. Parents do not let this give you second thoughts about allowing your DS/DD enter into West Point. It is still the best Service Academy. I would not hesitate to allow my DS/DD be part of the Long Gray Line.

Push Hard, Press Forward
What is R-day?
