Im probably too late so whats my options now?

BGO

Your BGO will submit a recommendation to the academy so it is very important that you make contact with them for that reason also. They function as an "interviewer" for the academy is how I looked at it as a parent. My daughter's was not terribly helpful when it came to the process itself unfortunately but as you can tell through this board there are some out there that are much better than others. :)

Il - 15. Right in the middle. I will try to contact my regional BGO as soon as possible to gather more information

just an update on where im at: I have a interview with the BGO officer tomorrow night. I'm excited yet nervous at the same time.

The thing I'm confused about is that i still having gotten anything in the mail for the actual application. I got a 32 on my math and 26 english. Am I scholastically qualified? I also sent in all my info to my congressman and should be hearing back from his office soon

I'm just a mom--so I don't know for sure, but I think only the Academy can tell you if you are academically/scholastically qualified. Your GPA, class rank, etc., all play into it.

BUT, a 32 math score on your ACT is very good--congratulations.

If it helps at all to compare, my son received a letter stating he was academically qualified--he had a 31 composite on his ACT (29 Math, 34 Grammar). From what I can tell from reading this forum, the emphasis is on Math, so it is much better to score higher in that area, which you have done.

Benson is correct.
Being scholastically qualified is much more than SAT scores. Often is it SAT's that can hold a candidate back - it appears that your SAT's are fine.
One admissions makes the determination that you are or are not scholastically qualified.

well the meeting i thought went really well. unfortunately he showed up a half hour before he told me hed arrive so i wasnt able to change into my dress clothes. he said he didnt have a problem with it.

it was really relaxed, he was from the same area my mom grew up so they sat there chatting for awhile. he said that its pretty late in the process but they saw my math scores and they sent him a message that i needed to be interviewed asap. so i guess they are interested, so now ill get the official application. so far so good

You got interviewed to become an official candidate?!
I didn't, just got an email w/ the codes for CIS.

Good Luck with getting everything in!

I hope my MOC interview tomorrow is as "relaxed" as yours was.

Good luck to you, Daniel. My son has his interview tomorrow as well. Which district are you from?

CA 36th. Don't tell me where in the same district. haha

Whether we are or not, good luck to your son.

It's a small world! We're in the same district. I don't know my son's not nervous at all. He's watching Army/Navy game in the morning.

haha it is a small world. turns out my BGO plays poker occasionally with my uncle. i found that to be really funny. yeah like other people on the forums have said i felt like i learned more about him and his sons experience at the academy. i think that will help though with everything. he said he would ask them to send me the official application cause they hadnt sent me one yet. so i guess they are interested.

next is my MOC which is probably here soon before christmas. so im going to have to prepare for a more formal interview. And good luck to everyone else

This is so interesting. Here in Washington, we must do things late. My deadlines for all three MOC for my state are early/late December. Interviews aren't until late January. Is this odd or do most MOCs have their interviews early?

For Senator Maria Cantwell packets are due 12/31
For Senator Patty Murray packets were due 11/15

have an interview 12/18 with our local congressman, but havent heard from the Senators except for a note that they received my complete package.

alright i got my official application! I find it surprising seeing as how three weeks ago i didnt even think i had a chance of still being in the application process. Now i have the application and the MOC interview soon and my BGO interview done.

ok question on the section where it asks about foreign language what have you described the reading and writing as? im not sure what to put

navy1314 - if you have any questions specific to your application, you should probably call either your BGO or Admissions in Annapolis. They are there to help you and there really is no such thing as a dumb question.

This also gives you an opportunity to make contact.
